Toronto, ON – 48North Cannabis Corp., Canada’s premier female-focused health and wellness cannabis company is excited to unveil a partnership with Leaf Forward – an organization dedicated to providing industry leading, acceleration and mentorship programs for early-stage cannabis startups. 48North’s first initiative will be to award five women-led cannabis businesses with a scholarship to the upcoming Leaf Forward Cannabis Startup Bootcamp, taking place in Toronto from July 20 to July 23, 2018.
“With the upcoming legalization of cannabis in Canada and the number of business opportunities it will provide, I believe it’s important for women in this space support and mentor each other every step of the way,” says Alison Gordon, CEO of 48North. “I’m excited to be partnering with Leaf Forward to award five women with the opportunity to attend the Cannabis Startup Bootcamp and watch as their businesses continue to grow.”
The five 48North Scholarship recipients will learn tactics on how to start and grow a business in a strictly regulated and increasingly competitive industry. Entrepreneurs will be taken through a deep dive on proposed cannabis regulations, instructed on business planning and given a crash course in legal 101.

The five successful applicants will receive:
- One entry to the Leaf Forward Cannabis Startup Bootcamp ($750 value)
- Twelve months free membership in the Leaf Club ($180 value)
- Lessons, advice and mentorship from industry leaders and subject matter experts
- Three strategy sessions with the marketing team at 48North
